Louis L. Duvernay Pilot’s Lounge

In recognition of the commitment and service of CW2 Louis L. Duvernay for his honorable service in the United States Army from 1955 – 1975, MidCoast Regional Airport dedicated their newly renovated Pilot’s Lounge to his namesake.

During his tenure at Fort Stewart, CW2 Louis L. Duvernay was recognized as one of the first African-American Pilot Instructors and served as a Defense Race Relations Instructor.

As a pilot in the United States Army, CW2 Louis L. Duvernay served with distinction and honor, earning several accolades to include the Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Air Medal, Good Conduct Medal, 2 Overseas Bars, Republic of Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, and Army Aviator Badge.
